What I Think

I was lucky to be asked to read and review this book, I have read the first book in this series and loved it and was hoping that this book was the same or better. oh it was better

The story follows Layla in this book, its starts back with her waking up on New Years Day. not remembering much from the night before rolling over in a bed and a room she has never been before. she told herself that she is over the casual sex and is now going to swear off guys. seven months later she is on a case that she has to follow up a police officer to clear up a problem but he doesn't seem to be picking up his phone so she took it on herself to go to the department and speak to him face to face, everything that could go wrong did,(Shoe broke, someone else taking her taxi).  finally getting to the department she walk up to the front desk asking to see the officer, but she didn't have a appointment telling the lady she doesn't have time for this as she has to be in court by 2pm and has tried to get him on the phone wasn't working the lady called he said for her to come down to his office as he has time now to see her.

Walking into his office Layla was trying to come across as a strong lawyer type which she was excellent at, looking around seeing family photos behind him and thinking all the good ones are gone. she got to the point of the reason she was there, telling her he will deal with it and to come back in a couple of days. she did and the chargers were dropped and the officer that was involved was dealt with, her job being done she was happy.

It was the end of a long week for Layla. she just got back from taking Prince for a walk seeing she had mail, there was a letter that didn't have a postage stamp thinking that who sent it just dropped it off, opening it up all it said was 'I'm waiting you f**king w**re' she started to freak out and went to the police department, she had been waiting for 45 minutes when she seen Ben get out of the elevator he was heading for the exit when he glanced the chairs on his way out he did a double take when he seen Layla sitting in one of the chairs stopping and heading over to her. saying their hellos Layla telling him she wasn't there on business but to file a report, Ben ask what sort of report not wanting to talk where everyone can hear them. Ben said to come to his office, after Layla telling him, he didn't want her to go home by herself so he went with her to check the place out to make sure no one was in her apartment.

Layla liked being around him but they both needed to be in charge and didn't like people telling them what to do, they made a agreement that both have two weeks each to be in charge, they went out and stayed at which others places in that time and when Layla realised that she was falling for Ben.

There is so much to say but I think you need to read this amazing book yourself to find out.
